Meet Dr. Aaron Cooksley

Suffering Through the Pain

In junior high, Dr. Aaron was involved in every sport from football and soccer to wrestling, baseball and basketball. He was playing in the outfield and dove for a ball, hitting the ground and feeling an alarming pop. In pain, he started to limp. The orthopedist told him to do physical therapy, but after a couple of months, there was no progress. Football season started, and he couldn’t even complete a squat with hardly any strength in his leg. A friend’s parents suggested he visit the chiropractor. “I was skeptical. What could chiropractic have to do with a leg issue?”

Dr. Aaron has the Webster Technique Certification and is currently completing his ICPA Pediatric Certification.

He made the two-hour trip to see a chiropractor in Superior, Nebraska. A spinal analyzation was first, followed by an adjustment. Directly after, a problem that had been present for six months and was essentially sidelining Dr. Aaron was completely gone.

It was like nothing had been wrong with me. I was doing sprints in the chiropractor’s parking lot! I didn’t yet know anything about chiropractic, but it allowed me to regain my athletic abilities.

Returning From Injury With Chiropractic

During his college years, Dr. Aaron was a running back at a Division II school. A chiropractor kept him in the game, and it was then he realized he wanted to have that same effect on people’s lives.

To obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic, he attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota. While there, he attended numerous seminars to learn from doctors who were already in practice. That was how he discovered the Gonstead Technique. This precise system of analysis and care showed Dr. Aaron’s wife incredible results after she’d suffered from multiple weekly migraines.

Seeing these remarkable results made Dr. Aaron certain he had to share the same benefits of this technique with his patients when he began his practice. He was fortunate to learn from many mentors over the years, combining these teachings into his care philosophy at Cooksley Family Chiropractic.

He often goes to CrossFit gyms in his area, working out and seeing fellow CrossFitters who need chiropractic care.

In his spare time, Dr. Aaron enjoys being with his wife and young daughter. They have two Bernese Mountain Dogs that round out their family. He’s still involved with athletics through slow pitch softball, football and soccer in our community. He and his wife enjoy going to concerts, and Dr. Aaron is a fan of Husker football.
